Osteopath
(Osteopath B App Sci M Osteopathy, PostGrad Cert Neonate & Infant PaedManTherapy)
In Martine’s dream world, there’s a DIY coffee machine on hand wherever you go, kids are born knowing how to make a packed lunch for themselves and everyone drives at the speed limit!
Like several of the staff here at Melville Osteopathy, Martine studied at RMIT in Melbourne. After graduating in 2007, she worked in regional Victoria and was exposed to a very wide range of conditions. To her, this highlighted the need for working collaboratively with many different health practitioners such as GPs, rheumatologists and sports physicians to address some of the complex conditions that people suffer.
Martine originally studied biology which meant she could travel with work and live overseas. When she returned to Australia, she became interested in holistic approaches to healthcare and Osteopathy in particular aligned with a lot of her core values. Martine has also completed further study including the Graduate Certificate in Paediatrics of Manual medicine in 2010 and professional courses in cranial osteopathy, tendon conditions and exercise rehabilitation among others. She enjoys seeing patients from newborn to the elderly, and particularly likes providing care to women pre, during and post pregnancy.
When Martine’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her juggling schedules to balance family and work, dreaming of trekking in Nepal and working on her garden (green thumb tips are welcome!).
