Exercise Physiology Perth

A system of understanding how the body responds to exercise.

WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?

Exercise Physiology is, well, just that – the understanding of how our bodies (our physiology) respond during movement or exercise. Through examining changes in the cells, organs and musculoskeletal system in response to different forms of movement, an exercise physiologist in perth can help you understand how your body responds and support you in tailoring an approach to exercise that maximises your healing, general health and fitness, sporting performance, and well-being.

TREATMENT

TREATMENT

During a session, your exercise physiologist will first gain an understanding of any obstacles you may be facing by discussing your history and experiences with you. We’ll combine this with observations of your body’s response to different types of movement. Depending on what your concerns or intentions are; injury recovery; pain management; or general health and exercise goals, we’ll work with you to devise a movement and management plan to support your progress.

Again, it depends on what your priorities are as to how exactly we will work together. That said, a “movement” plan will take into account multiple aspects of your situation – physical, psychological and social – to assist you in using your existing assets and supports and making required changes to meet the challenges. We’ll prescribe specific exercises or movements to help you recover, feel better, improve performance or just get a little healthier. We’ll work together to figure out the best ways to make them attainable in the context of your life – (after all most of us find ourselves challenged by the big three – time, money and motivation!)
